Not a QuickBooks User Yet? Free Training for a Test Drive

Saturday, June 5th, 2010 by lacrews

Get organized, save time and money.  QuickBooks is the #1 rated, best-selling small business software.  Based on a survey of QuickBooks customers who expressed an opinion, Intuit reported that “9 out of 10 of our current customers would recommend QuickBooks to another small business owner”.

Because it enjoys an 80-85% market share, QuickBooks has the most online and offline help available.  QuickBooks has always been known as the most intuitive accounting package available.  QuickBooks doesn’t expect you to know “dreaded” terminology like debits or credits or double entry accounting for day-to-day bookkeeping.  Spend your time doing what actually needs to be done, rather than trudging through a new set of vocabulary words.   Transactions are entered on screens that look like familiar forms:  invoices, checks, sales receipts, vendor bills, credit card receipts, etc.   QuickBooks has an effective flow chart on the Home Page when you open your data file.  This help users understand what to do, and when to do it.

QuickBooks is scalable; the smallest business can begin with Simple Start.   As the business grows, it can upgrade to Pro, then Premier, and finally Enterprise.  Upgrading in this manner preserves the historical data, while adding needed features.

Still on the fence about QuickBooks?  Now’s a great opportunity to see the software in action via our On Demand free QuickBooks training special.  You don’t need the software to see what it’s all about.  Hurry though, this free training is a limited time offer!

“We’re calling it our Jammin’ June Special,” commented Andrea Crews, Senior Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor.  “Each June, we go to Bonnaroo™ to unwind in the hot Tennessee sun and enjoy an array of musical artists.  With this relaxed spirit in mind, we decided to share our On Demand QuickBooks™ training course with everyone.”   Crews is also the Video Instructor.

This convenient and comprehensive self-study course permits a student to learn at his or her own pace whenever they have time and wherever they have an internet connection.   An on-line student creates a user name and password to view more than seventy-five (75) high quality flash video lessons.  In addition, there is a companion guide and a sample QuickBooks™ data file to use with each exercise.  Topics range from set up to customization of the software’s numerous features.

“We debuted our On Demand QuickBooks™ training course in early 2010.  People have different learning styles:  hearing, seeing, or doing.  For example, a student may decide to download a chapter in the handbook and try the exercises on his or her own.  If that student gets stuck, he or she can watch the corresponding flash video for the correct procedure and QuickBooks™ keystrokes,” commented Mark Crews, Producer and Senior Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor.

Many non-profits and small business owners don’t have the internal resources to effectively manage their books.  Some have down-sized forcing a family member or other employee to be the bookkeeper.  Not only will the On Demand QuickBooks™ training course provide these new users with a good foundation, it answers very common problems and questions.  Confidence plus control equals happy bookkeepers and business owners.

LaCrews Bookkeeping is staffed with Certified QuickBooks™ ProAdvisors and has taught QuickBooks™ classes for the Small Business Development Center.  They help small businesses and non-profits get the most out of QuickBooks™.  For their free on-line, On Demand QuickBooks™ training course, call LaCrews Bookkeeping at (434) 326-4112, toll-free at (877)  528-2560, or visit www.LaCrews.com.

We recently received an email—-Subject: “Intuit Secure Update”.  Their return email address is “Intuit Company (update@intuit.net)”, and they are claiming to help you with QuickBooks security updates.

Do NOT follow any of the directions they give nor download any of the links they provide.  We contacted Intuit and confirmed this email did not come from them.

If you did receive it, you can report it at this link:  http://security.intuit.com/pci-dss.html

Once on the webpage, you’ll see a blue box on the right-hand side of the page.  In the “Take Action” section, click “Report a fake e-mail”.

Your assistance could help ward off future scams!  As a reminder, Intuit only provides updates through your software and not independent downloads.
